Meet the Doctors

Maria Elena Falcon, M.D.

For over 20 years, Dr. Maria Elena Falcon has been providing her patients with exceptional allergy and immunology care. Highly educated, Dr. Falcon obtained her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in 1983. She then completed a Residency in Pediatrics from 1983-1986  and a Fellowship in Allergy and Immunology from 1987-1989 at UT Health Science Center in San Antonio.

A Diplomate of the American Board of Allergy and Immunology, Dr. Falcon feels it is important to stay on the cutting-edge of her field. Thus, she maintains memberships in the Texas Medical Association, Hidalgo/Starr County Medical Society, American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, the Texas Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Society and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

In her spare time, Dr. Falcon volunteers at the Hope Clinic and is a member of the non-profit organization VAMOS.

Sandra Tovar, MSN, RN, PNP-BC-AE-C

Sandra Tovar has provided outstanding patient health care since 1982. Sandra earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1981 and obtained her Master of Science in Nursing from Corpus Christi State University in 1988.

She is an active member of many prestigious professional organizations. She has represented nursing professionally at the local, state, and  national level in various roles since 1988. She is currently a member of American Nurses Association, Texas Nurses Association, NAPNAP, the Valley Advanced Practice Nurses Association, and the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.

Sandra has also been involved in the legislative process since 1979. She is currently on a Task Force for Advanced Practice Registered  Nurses with the Texas Nurses Association. She is also on the State Action Coalition Texas Team Strategic Advisory Committee for Advancing the Future of Nursing.

Sandra is certified by the ANCC as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, and she is a Certified Asthma Educator. She shares her knowledge about allergies and asthma by lecturing at the University of Texas Pan American and to professional organizations, educators, school nurses, students and parents.

In her time away from the office, Sandra volunteers with Holy Spirit Catholic Church fundraisers. She enjoys exercising, cooking and traveling.
